Colección 1, Poema 10
X.
IN
A
LIBRARY.
It
is
a
pleasure
To
find
an
old
book,
In
the
clothes
of
its
time;
A
special
thing,
I
think,
To
hold
its
old
hand,
And
warm
it
in
ours,
To
go
back
to
the
time
When
it
was
new.
To
see
its
old
ideas,
Its
knowledge
to
share
On
what
we
both
love,
The
old
stories;
What
scholars
liked,
What
they
talked
about
When
Plato
was
sure.
And
Sophocles
was
a
man;
When
Sappho
was
alive,
And
Beatrice
wore
The
dress
Dante
loved.
Long
ago
facts,
He
knows
them
well,
Like
one
who
comes
to
town
And
tells
you
dreams
are
true;
He
lived
where
dreams
start.
His
presence
is
magic,
You
ask
him
to
stay;
Old
books
nod
their
heads
And
tease,
just
so.
