XXVIII.
THE
COMING
OF
NIGHT.
The
mountains
glow
with
sunset,
And
the
dark
trees
too!
The
sun
makes
the
trees
sparkle,
Like
magic
in
the
sky!
The
old
towers
look
red,
Till
the
sun
goes
down.
Do
I
have
bright
lips
To
say
what
I
see?
The
fire
in
the
sky
moves,
Touches
all
the
grass,
With
a
blue
light,
Like
a
queen
walks
by!
Dark
comes
to
the
village,
Houses
start
to
hide;
Strange
lights
shine
alone,
No
people
are
near!
Now
it
is
night
everywhere,
Where
trees
once
stood,
Just
dark
and
quiet
now,
All
alone
in
night!
These
are
things
great
artists
see;
They
cannot
show
them;
They
put
down
their
brushes,
They
cannot
paint
this.
