Colección 6, Poema 38
XLVIII.
FRINGED
GENTIAN.
God
makes
a
small
flower;
It
wants
to
be
a
rose
But
cannot,
and
summer
laughs.
Then
before
the
snow
A
purple
flower
comes
And
covers
the
hill;
Summer
hides
her
face,
And
laughter
stops.
Cold
is
what
it
likes;
The
flower
waits
for
the
North.
Creator!
Can
I
bloom?
