Colección 7, Poema 7
VII.
I
read
my
paper
slowly,
Looked
at
it
with
my
eyes,
To
see
I
made
no
mistake
In
its
hardest
part,
The
date,
and
way
of
shame;
And
then
the
kind
words
That
"God
have
mercy"
on
the
soul
The
jury
gave
him.
I
made
my
soul
ready
With
her
hard
time,
That
at
the
end
it
should
not
be
A
new
pain,
But
she
and
Death,
friends,
Meet
calmly
as
friends,
Greet
and
pass
without
a
word
—
And
there
it
ends.
