Poemas de Emily Dickinson, Tres Series, Completo
Colección 8, Poema 16
XIX.
I
HAVE
A
GOLD
COIN.
I
have
a
gold
coin;
I
lose
it
in
the
sand,
And
though
it
is
simple,
And
there
is
more
money,
It
is
very
special
to
me,
So
when
I
cannot
find
it
I
sit
down
and
feel
sad.
I
have
a
red
bird
Who
sings
every
day,
But
when
the
trees
change,
It
flies
away.
Time
brings
new
birds,
They
sing
the
same
songs,
But
I
miss
my
first
bird
And
wait
for
it
to
come
home.
I
have
a
star
in
the
sky;
It
has
a
special
name,
And
when
I
do
not
look,
It
moves
away.
The
sky
is
full
of
stars,
And
they
shine
all
night,
But
I
do
not
care,
Because
none
are
mine.
My
story
has
a
lesson:
I
have
a
missing
friend,
Star,
bird,
and
coin
in
the
sand,
And
when
this
sad
song
With
tears
in
my
eyes,
Is
seen
by
a
friend
Far
away
from
here,
I
hope
they
feel
sorry
And
find
no
comfort.
NOTE.
—
This
poem
may
have
a
personal
meaning.
It
might
be
for
a
friend
in
Europe,
a
reminder
to
write
letters.
It
is
Saturday
afternoon.
Boys
and
girls
run
out.
They
feel
very
happy.
School
is
like
a
jail.
