XII.
How
dare
the
robins
sing,
When
men
and
women
hear
Who
since
they
left
Have
settled
with
the
year!
—
Paid
all
that
life
owed
In
one
big
bill,
And
now,
what
life
or
death
can
do
Does
not
matter.
The
sun
is
rude
To
him
whose
light,
Taken
from
immortality,
Leaves
him
to
the
night.
In
respect
to
him
Silence
every
sound,
Whose
garden
fights
with
the
dew,
In
the
morning
defeated!
