XVII.
THE
WIFE.
She
rose
to
his
needs,
dropped
The
toys
of
her
life
To
take
the
noble
work
Of
woman
and
of
wife.
If
she
missed
anything
in
her
new
day
Of
size,
or
wonder,
Or
first
view,
or
the
gold
In
using
wore
away,
It
lay
unspoken,
as
the
sea
Keeps
pearl
and
weed,
But
only
to
himself
is
known
The
depths
they
stay.
