Colección 5, Poema 2
II.
I
bring
a
new
drink
To
lips
that
are
dry,
And
ask
them
to
drink.
They
try
with
fever,
I
look
away,
And
come
back
later
to
see.
The
hands
hold
the
glass;
The
lips
I
wanted
to
cool
Are
now
too
cold.
I
might
try
to
warm
The
hearts
where
frost
stayed
For
many
years.
Maybe
someone
else
is
thirsty,
Who
could
have
shown
me
the
way
If
they
had
spoken.
So
I
always
carry
the
cup
In
case
someone
needs
a
drink.
If
someone
says
to
me,
Give
it
to
me,
When
I
wake
up.
