Poemas de Emily Dickinson, Tres Series, Completo
Colección 8, Poema 38
XXXIX.
SAVED!
These
are
they
of
trouble
Marked
by
the
white;
The
shiny
gowns,
a
lesser
rank
Of
winners
show.
All
these
did
win;
but
the
ones
Who
won
most
times
Wear
nothing
less
than
snow,
No
ornament
but
palms.
Giving
up
is
a
thing
unknown
On
this
higher
ground;
Loss,
an
old
pain,
Remembered
as
the
mile
Our
tired
ankle
barely
gained
When
night
swallowed
the
road;
But
we
stood
whispering
in
the
house,
And
all
we
said
was
"Saved"!
