XII.
High
from
the
earth
I
heard
a
bird;
He
walked
on
the
trees
As
if
they
were
nothing,
And
then
he
found
a
breeze,
And
settled
softly
On
a
pile
of
wind
Which
Nature
left
behind.
A
happy
fellow
I
gathered
from
his
talk,
Which
was
both
blessing
And
joke,
Without
burden,
I
learned,
in
leafy
wood
He
was
the
father
Of
a
young
brood;
And
this
sudden
joy
His
remedy
for
care,
—
A
contrast
to
our
breaks.
How
different
we
are!
