L.
THE
SOUL'S
STORM.
Every
day
it
struck
me
The
lightning
was
so
new
As
if
the
cloud
just
opened
And
let
the
fire
through.
It
burned
me
in
the
night,
It
hurt
in
my
dreams;
It
looked
fresh
every
morning
With
the
sun's
first
beams.
I
thought
the
storm
was
short,
—
The
wildest
and
quickest;
But
Nature
forgot
its
date,
And
left
it
in
the
sky.
