XIX.
To
know
how
he
suffered
would
be
dear;
To
know
if
human
eyes
were
near
To
whom
he
could
trust
his
gaze,
Until
it
settled
on
Paradise.
To
know
if
he
was
patient,
partly
content,
Was
dying
as
he
thought,
or
not;
Was
it
a
good
day
to
die,
And
did
the
sun
face
him?
What
was
his
last
thought,
of
home,
or
God,
Or
what
people
said
When
they
heard
he
left
this
world
On
such
a
day?
And
wishes,
did
he
have
any?
Just
his
sigh,
if
clear,
Would
have
shown
me.
And
was
he
sure
until
Illness
turned
into
eternal
health?
And
if
he
spoke,
what
name
was
best,
What
came
first,
What
stopped
At
the
sleepiest
moment?
Was
he
afraid,
or
calm?
Could
he
know
How
aware
awareness
could
grow,
Till
love
that
was,
and
love
too
blessed
to
be,
Meet
—
and
become
Eternity?
