XXV.
SHIPWRECK.
It
tossed
and
tossed—
A
small
ship
I
knew—
Caught
by
storm,
It
spun
around,
And
searched
wildly
for
morning.
It
slipped
and
slipped,
Like
a
drunken
step;
Its
white
foot
stumbled,
Then
vanished
from
sight.
Ah,
ship,
goodnight
To
you
and
crew;
The
ocean's
heart
too
smooth,
too
blue,
To
break
for
you.
