XLIII.
REMORSE.
Remorse
is
memory
awake,
Her
friends
are
busy,
—
A
presence
of
past
acts
At
windows
and
doors.
It's
past
set
before
the
soul,
And
lit
with
a
match,
To
make
reading
easy
Of
its
short
message.
Remorse
cannot
be
cured,
—
the
disease
Not
even
God
can
heal;
For
it
is
his
creation,
—
The
part
of
hell.
