XXVIII.
I
know
a
place
where
summer
tries
With
a
skilled
frost,
Each
year
she
brings
her
daisies
back,
Saying
briefly,
"Lost."
But
when
the
south
wind
moves
the
pools
And
dances
in
the
lanes,
She
doubts
her
promise,
And
sings
soft
songs
again
Into
the
lap
of
stone,
With
spices
and
dew,
That
slowly
turns
to
quartz,
On
her
amber
shoe.
