Poemas de Emily Dickinson, Tres Series, Completo
Colección 8, Poema 38
XXXIX.
SAVED!
Of
trouble
these
are
they
Marked
by
the
white;
The
shiny
gowns,
a
lesser
rank
Of
winners
show.
All
these
did
conquer;
but
the
ones
Who
overcame
most
times
Wear
nothing
simpler
than
snow,
No
ornament
but
palms.
Surrender
is
a
word
unknown
On
this
better
land;
Defeat,
a
past
pain,
Remembered
as
the
mile
Our
tired
ankle
barely
gained
When
night
ate
the
road;
But
we
stood
whispering
in
the
house,
And
all
we
said
was
"Saved"!
