IV.
SATISFIED.
One
blessing
I
had,
larger
than
the
rest
That
I
stopped
measuring,
satisfied,
By
its
enchanted
size.
It
was
the
limit
of
my
dreams,
The
focus
of
my
prayers,
—
A
perfect,
stunning
bliss
As
content
as
despair.
I
knew
no
more
of
want
or
cold,
Both
became
illusions,
For
this
new
soul's
value,
The
highest
earthly
sum.
The
heaven
below,
the
heaven
above,
Covered
in
a
redder
hue.
Life's
scope
seemed
too
full;
Judgment
faded,
too.
Why
joys
are
so
scarce,
Why
Paradise
is
delayed,
Why
floods
are
served
in
bowls,
—
I
speculate
no
more.
