Poemas de Emily Dickinson, Tres Series, Completo
Colección 4, Poema 1
IV.
TIME
AND
ETERNITY.
I.
One
dignity
awaits
us
all,
One
afternoon
in
robes.
None
can
escape
this
purple,
None
avoid
this
crown.
A
coach
it
provides,
and
servants,
Chambers,
state,
and
crowds;
Bells
ring
in
the
village,
As
we
ride
in
splendor.
What
grand
attendants,
What
service
when
we
pause!
How
they
raise
their
hats
As
we
depart
with
grace!
How
pomp
surpasses
ermine,
When
you
and
I
present
Our
modest
shields
And
claim
our
rank
to
die!
