VIII.
THE
BLUEBIRD.
Before
you
thought
of
spring,
Except
as
a
guess,
You
see,
God
bless
his
suddenness,
A
fellow
in
the
skies
Of
unique
colors,
A
little
weather-worn,
Wearing
clothes
Of
indigo
and
brown.
With
samples
of
song,
As
if
for
you
to
choose,
Discretion
in
the
pause,
With
cheerful
delays
he
goes
To
some
higher
tree
Without
a
single
leaf,
And
sings
for
joy
to
nobody
But
his
own
angelic
self!
