IV.
SATISFIED.
One
blessing
I
had,
more
immense
Than
all
others
to
my
eyes,
That
I
ceased
measuring,
contented,
With
this
enchanted
size.
It
was
the
boundary
of
my
dream,
The
focus
of
my
prayer,
—
A
perfect,
paralyzing
bliss
Content
as
despair.
No
more
did
I
know
want
or
cold,
Both
phantasms
now,
For
this
new
value
in
the
soul,
The
utmost
earthly
vow.
The
heaven
beneath
the
heaven
above
Obscured
with
ruddier
hue.
Life's
latitude
felt
overfull;
Judgment
vanished
too.
Why
joys
are
so
sparingly
given,
Why
Paradise
is
delayed,
Why
floods
are
served
in
bowls,
—
I
speculate
no
more.
