XLVI.
DYING.
I
heard
a
fly
buzz
when
I
died;
The
stillness
around
my
form
Was
like
the
stillness
in
the
air
Between
the
gusts
of
a
storm.
The
eyes
beside
me
had
dried
their
tears,
And
breaths
were
gathered
in
anticipation
For
that
final
moment,
when
the
king
Would
be
revealed
in
his
power.
I
bequeathed
my
keepsakes,
signed
away
What
parts
of
me
I
Could
bestow,
—
and
then
A
fly
intervened,
With
a
blue,
uncertain,
stumbling
buzz,
Between
the
light
and
me;
And
then
the
windows
failed,
and
then
I
could
not
see
to
see.
