Poemas de Emily Dickinson, Tres Series, Completo
Colección 4, Poema 1
IV.
TIME
AND
ETERNITY.
I.
A
singular
dignity
awaits
us
all,
One
ceremonious
afternoon.
No
one
can
escape
this
regal
hue,
No
one
can
elude
this
crown.
A
carriage
it
guarantees,
with
attendants,
Chambers,
state,
and
throng;
Bells
tolling
in
the
village,
As
we
proceed
with
grandeur.
What
dignified
accompaniment,
What
service
when
we
halt!
How
loyally
at
our
departure
Their
multitude
of
hats
they
raise!
Such
pomp
beyond
ermine,
When
humble
you
and
I
Present
our
modest
emblem,
And
claim
the
rank
to
die!
