the

and
removed
the
bar.

tried
keys
in

lock
but
failed.

sound
came
from
inside,
and
Holmes
looked
worried.

hope
we
aren't

Watson,
help
me
open
this
door."
The
old
door
broke
easily.
We
rushed
in.
The
room
was
empty.
There
was

bed,

and

basket.

was
open,
and

gone.
"Something

happened
here,"
Holmes
said.

Hunter's

and
took

away."

skylight.

climbed
to

roof.
"Yes,"
he

ladder.

there
when
