Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
A Scandal in Bohemia
Capítulo 1, Página 1
To
Sherlock
Holmes,
she
is
always
the
woman.
I
rarely
heard
him
call
her
anything
else.
In
his
eyes,
she
was
above
all
other
women.
It
was
not
because
he
loved
Irene
Adler.
He
did
not
feel
love.
All
emotions,
especially
love,
were
strange
to
his
cold
and
logical
mind.
He
was
like
a
perfect
machine
for
thinking
and
watching.
But
he
would
not
be
a
good
lover.
He
never
talked
about
love
without
joking.
Emotions
were
interesting
to
him
because
they
showed
people's
true
motives.
But
for
him,
emotions
were
a
problem.
They
could
disturb
his
clear
thinking.
A
strong
emotion
was
like
dirt
in
a
sensitive
instrument.
Yet,
there
was
one
woman
for
him,
and
that
was
Irene
Adler,
who
had
a
complex
past.
I
had
not
seen
much
of
Holmes
lately.
My
marriage
had
taken
us
apart.
I
was
very
happy
with
my
new
life.
My
home
and
family
kept
me
busy.
Holmes,
who
did
not
like
society,
stayed
at
Baker
Street.
He
lived
with
his
books
and
switched
between
using
cocaine
and
working
hard.
He
loved
studying
crime
and
used
his
great
skills
to
solve
mysteries
that
police
could
not.
Sometimes,
I
heard
about
his
work.
He
went
to
Odessa
for
the
Trepoff
murder,
solved
a
tragedy
in
Trincomalee,
and
helped
the
royal
family
of
Holland.
But
these
were
just
stories
from
the
newspapers.
I
knew
little
about
my
old
friend.
One
night,
on
March
20,
1888,
I
was
coming
home
from
visiting
a
patient.
I
walked
through
Baker
Street.
I
saw
the
familiar
door
and
remembered
my
time
with
Holmes.
I
wanted
to
see
him
again
and
know
what
he
was
doing.
His
rooms
were
bright,
and
I
saw
his
shadow
moving
quickly.
He
walked
back
and
forth,
deep
in
thought.
I
knew
he
was
working
on
a
new
problem.
I
rang
the
bell
and
went
up
to
the
room
that
used
to
be
partly
mine.
Holmes
was
not
very
warm,
but
he
was
glad
to
see
me.
He
said
little
but
smiled
kindly.
He
showed
me
to
a
chair,
offered
cigars,
and
pointed
to
drinks
in
the
corner.
Then
he
stood
by
the
fire
and
looked
at
me
in
his
thoughtful
way.
“Marriage
looks
good
on
you,”
he
said.
“I
think,
Watson,
you
have
gained
seven
and
a
half
pounds
since
I
last
saw
you.”
“Seven!”
I
replied.
“Indeed,
I
thought
it
was
a
bit
more.
Just
a
little
more,
Watson.
And
you
are
working
again,
I
see.
You
did
not
tell
me
you
would
start
practicing
again.”
“Then,
how
do
you
know?”
