Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor
Capítulo 10, Página 10
"What
do
you
think
about
your
wife’s
character?"
The
nobleman
swung
his
glasses
faster
and
looked
at
the
fire.
"Mr.
Holmes,"
he
said,
"my
wife
was
twenty
before
her
father
became
rich.
She
grew
up
in
a
mining
camp
and
learned
from
nature,
not
from
school.
She
is
what
we
call
a
tomboy,
strong
and
free,
with
no
traditions.
She
is
quick
to
decide
and
brave
in
her
actions.
But
I
would
not
have
married
her
if
I
didn't
think
she
was
a
noble
woman.
I
believe
she
can
make
big
sacrifices
and
hates
anything
wrong."
"Do
you
have
her
photograph?"
"I
brought
this
with
me,"
he
said.
He
opened
a
locket
and
showed
us
the
face
of
a
beautiful
woman.
It
was
not
a
photo
but
a
small
painting.
The
artist
showed
her
black
hair,
big
dark
eyes,
and
lovely
mouth.
Holmes
looked
at
it
for
a
long
time.
Then
he
closed
the
locket
and
gave
it
back
to
Lord
St.
Simon.
"The
young
lady
came
to
London,
and
you
met
her
again?"
"Yes,
her
father
brought
her
here
for
the
London
season.
I
met
her
many
times,
got
engaged,
and
now
we
are
married."
"She
brought
a
large
dowry,
right?"
"A
fair
dowry,
but
not
more
than
usual
for
my
family."
