Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet
Capítulo 11, Página 9
"Now
I
come
to
an
important
part
of
my
story.
I
am
not
a
heavy
sleeper,
and
my
worries
made
me
sleep
even
less.
Around
two
in
the
morning,
I
woke
up
because
of
a
noise
in
the
house.
It
stopped
before
I
was
fully
awake,
but
it
felt
like
a
window
had
closed
gently.
I
listened
carefully.
Suddenly,
I
heard
footsteps
in
the
next
room.
I
got
out
of
bed,
very
scared,
and
looked
around
the
corner
of
my
dressing-room
door."
"Arthur!"
I
screamed.
"You
villain!
You
thief!
How
dare
you
touch
that
coronet?"
"The
gas
light
was
on,
as
I
left
it,
and
my
poor
boy,
only
in
his
shirt
and
trousers,
stood
by
the
light.
He
held
the
coronet
in
his
hands.
He
seemed
to
be
twisting
it
with
all
his
strength.
When
I
cried
out,
he
dropped
it
and
turned
very
pale.
I
picked
it
up
and
looked
at
it.
One
gold
corner
with
three
beryls
was
missing."
"You
scoundrel!"
I
shouted,
very
angry.
"You
have
destroyed
it!
You
have
shamed
me
forever!
Where
are
the
jewels
you
stole?"
"Stolen!"
he
cried.
"Yes,
thief!"
I
shouted,
shaking
his
shoulder.
"There
are
none
missing.
There
cannot
be
any
missing,"
he
said.
"There
are
three
missing,
and
you
know
where
they
are.
Must
I
call
you
a
liar
too?
Didn't
I
see
you
trying
to
break
off
another
piece?"
