Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Red-Headed League
Capítulo 2, Página 24
"Yes,
I'm
afraid
so.
I
brought
cards,
but
we
can't
risk
light
now.
We
must
pick
our
places.
These
men
are
dangerous.
I
will
stand
behind
this
crate.
You
hide
behind
those.
When
I
shine
the
light,
move
quickly.
If
they
shoot,
Watson,
do
not
hesitate
to
shoot
back."
I
put
my
revolver
on
the
case.
Holmes
covered
the
lantern,
and
we
were
in
complete
darkness.
The
smell
of
hot
metal
told
us
the
light
was
ready.
The
darkness
and
the
cold
air
made
me
feel
uneasy.
"They
have
one
way
to
escape,"
whispered
Holmes.
"Back
through
the
house
into
Saxe-Coburg
Square.
Did
you
do
what
I
asked,
Jones?"
"I
have
an
inspector
and
two
officers
at
the
front
door."
"Then
we
have
blocked
all
exits.
Now
we
must
be
quiet
and
wait."
Time
seemed
long.
We
waited
for
an
hour
and
a
quarter,
but
it
felt
like
all
night.
My
body
was
tired,
but
I
did
not
move.
My
nerves
were
tense,
and
I
heard
everything,
even
my
friends
breathing.
I
watched
the
floor
and
saw
a
light.
At
first,
it
was
a
small
spark
on
the
stones.
Then
it
became
a
yellow
line.
Suddenly,
a
hand
came
out
of
the
floor.
It
felt
around
and
then
disappeared.
The
spark
showed
a
crack
between
the
stones.
The
hand
was
gone
for
a
moment.
Then
a
stone
turned
over
with
a
loud
sound.
A
light
came
through
a
hole.
A
face
looked
around,
then
climbed
out.
Another
person
followed,
small
with
red
hair.
