Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Boscombe Valley Mystery
Capítulo 4, Página 14
"Let's
do
it.
Watson,
you
might
find
it
slow,
but
I
will
be
back
in
a
few
hours."
I
walked
with
them
to
the
station,
then
wandered
through
the
town.
I
returned
to
the
hotel
and
tried
to
read
a
book.
The
story
was
boring
compared
to
our
mystery,
so
I
threw
it
away.
I
thought
about
the
day's
events.
If
the
young
man's
story
was
true,
what
terrible
thing
happened
between
him
and
his
father?
It
was
something
deadly.
Could
the
injuries
tell
me
anything?
I
asked
for
the
local
newspaper,
which
had
details
from
the
inquest.
The
report
said
the
back
of
the
head
was
hit
with
a
heavy
object.
I
touched
my
own
head
to
understand.
The
blow
came
from
behind,
which
might
help
the
accused
because
he
faced
his
father.
But
the
father
could
have
turned
around.
I
should
tell
Holmes
about
it.
Then
there
was
the
strange
mention
of
a
rat.
What
did
it
mean?
It
wasn't
delirium;
it
was
a
clue.
What
could
it
be?
I
thought
hard.
Young
McCarthy
saw
some
grey
cloth.
If
true,
the
murderer
dropped
something,
maybe
an
overcoat,
and
took
it
when
the
son
wasn't
looking.
This
case
was
full
of
mysteries.
I
understood
Lestrade's
doubts,
but
I
trusted
Holmes.
Every
new
fact
seemed
to
support
the
young
man's
innocence.
Holmes
came
back
late.
He
was
alone
because
Lestrade
stayed
in
town.
"The
weather
is
still
good,"
he
said,
sitting
down.
"It
must
not
rain
before
we
check
the
ground.
A
man
needs
to
be
alert
for
this
work,
and
I
didn't
want
to
do
it
tired
from
travel.
I
saw
young
McCarthy."
"What
did
you
learn
from
him?"
"Nothing."
"Did
he
have
any
clues?"
"None.
I
thought
he
knew
who
did
it
and
was
protecting
them,
but
now
I
think
he
is
as
confused
as
everyone
else.
He
is
not
very
clever,
but
he
seems
kind."
