Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Boscombe Valley Mystery
Capítulo 4, Página 24
"Holmes,"
I
said,
"you
have
trapped
this
man,
and
you
have
saved
an
innocent
life
as
if
you
cut
the
rope
that
was
hanging
him.
I
see
where
this
points.
The
culprit
is—"
"Mr.
John
Turner,"
said
the
hotel
waiter,
opening
our
room
door
and
bringing
in
a
visitor.
The
man
who
entered
was
strange
and
impressive.
His
slow,
limping
step
and
bent
shoulders
made
him
look
old,
but
his
strong,
lined
face
and
big
body
showed
he
was
very
strong.
His
tangled
beard,
gray
hair,
and
thick
eyebrows
gave
him
dignity
and
power,
but
his
face
was
ashen,
and
his
lips
and
nostrils
had
a
blue
shade.
I
saw
at
once
he
was
very
ill.
"Please
sit
on
the
sofa,"
said
Holmes
gently.
"Did
you
get
my
note?"
"Yes,
the
lodge-keeper
brought
it.
You
said
you
wanted
to
see
me
here
to
avoid
gossip."
"I
thought
people
would
talk
if
I
went
to
the
Hall."
"And
why
did
you
want
to
see
me?"
He
looked
at
my
friend
with
tired
eyes,
as
if
he
already
knew
the
answer.
"Yes,"
said
Holmes,
answering
the
look
more
than
the
words.
"It
is
true.
I
know
all
about
McCarthy."
