Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle
Capítulo 7, Página 11
"Mr.
Henry
Baker,
I
believe,"
said
Holmes,
standing
up
and
greeting
him
warmly.
"Please
sit
by
the
fire,
Mr.
Baker.
It’s
a
cold
night,
and
you
look
like
you
prefer
summer.
Ah,
Watson,
you’re
just
in
time.
Is
that
your
hat,
Mr.
Baker?"
"Yes,
sir,
that
is
my
hat."
He
was
a
large
man
with
a
big
head
and
a
smart
face.
He
had
a
pointed
brown
beard
and
red
cheeks.
His
hand
shook
a
little,
reminding
me
of
Holmes’
guess
about
his
habits.
His
black
coat
was
old
and
buttoned
up,
and
his
wrists
showed
from
his
sleeves.
He
spoke
slowly,
choosing
his
words
carefully.
He
seemed
like
a
smart
man
who
had
bad
luck.
"We
kept
these
things
for
days,"
said
Holmes,
"because
we
thought
you
would
advertise
your
address.
I
don’t
know
why
you
didn’t."
The
man
laughed
shyly.
"I
don’t
have
much
money,"
he
said.
"I
thought
the
rough
men
who
attacked
me
took
my
hat
and
bird.
I
didn’t
want
to
spend
more
money
trying
to
get
them
back."
"That
makes
sense.
By
the
way,
we
had
to
eat
the
bird."
"Eat
it!"
He
almost
stood
up,
surprised.
"Yes,
it
would
have
been
wasted
if
we
didn’t.
But
this
other
goose
on
the
table
is
fresh
and
the
same
weight.
Will
it
do
for
you?"
