Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
A Scandal in Bohemia
Capítulo 1, Página 22
"You
can
rely
on
me."
"That's
excellent.
I
think
it's
time
I
prepare
for
my
new
role."
He
went
into
his
bedroom
and
returned
soon,
dressed
as
a
friendly
and
simple-minded
Nonconformist
clergyman.
His
wide
black
hat,
baggy
trousers,
white
tie,
and
kind
smile,
along
with
his
curious
look,
could
only
be
matched
by
Mr.
John
Hare.
It
wasn't
just
his
costume
that
changed.
His
expression,
manner,
and
even
his
personality
seemed
to
change
with
each
role
he
played.
The
stage
lost
a
great
actor,
just
as
science
lost
a
sharp
thinker,
when
he
became
a
crime
specialist.
It
was
a
quarter
past
six
when
we
left
Baker
Street,
and
it
was
almost
seven
when
we
arrived
at
Serpentine
Avenue.
The
sky
was
getting
dark,
and
the
street
lamps
were
just
being
turned
on
as
we
walked
back
and
forth
in
front
of
Briony
Lodge,
waiting
for
its
owner
to
arrive.
The
house
looked
just
like
Sherlock
Holmes
had
described,
but
the
area
seemed
busier
than
I
expected.
For
a
small
street
in
a
quiet
neighborhood,
it
was
surprisingly
lively.
There
was
a
group
of
poorly
dressed
men
smoking
and
laughing
in
a
corner,
a
man
sharpening
scissors,
two
soldiers
flirting
with
a
nurse,
and
several
well-dressed
young
men
walking
with
cigars
in
their
mouths.
“You
see,”
said
Holmes,
as
we
continued
to
walk
in
front
of
the
house,
“this
marriage
makes
things
simpler.
The
photograph
is
now
a
double-edged
weapon.
She
would
not
want
Mr.
Godfrey
Norton
to
see
it
any
more
than
our
client
wants
his
princess
to
see
it.
Now,
the
question
is,
where
can
we
find
the
photograph?”
“Where,
indeed?”
“It’s
unlikely
she
carries
it
with
her.
It’s
too
large
to
hide
easily
in
a
woman’s
dress.
She
knows
the
King
might
have
her
stopped
and
searched.
Two
attempts
have
already
been
made.
So,
we
can
assume
she
doesn’t
carry
it
with
her.”
“Where,
then?”
