Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor
Capítulo 10, Página 1
The
marriage
of
Lord
St.
Simon
and
its
strange
ending
is
no
longer
interesting
in
the
high
society
where
the
unhappy
groom
lives.
New
scandals
have
come
up,
and
people
are
more
interested
in
those.
However,
I
believe
the
true
story
was
never
told
to
the
public.
Since
my
friend
Sherlock
Holmes
played
a
big
role
in
solving
it,
I
think
my
account
of
him
would
be
incomplete
without
this
story.
It
was
a
few
weeks
before
my
own
wedding,
during
the
time
I
still
lived
with
Holmes
on
Baker
Street.
He
came
home
from
a
walk
and
found
a
letter
on
the
table
waiting
for
him.
I
had
stayed
inside
all
day
because
it
was
raining
and
windy.
The
bullet
wound
from
my
Afghan
campaign
was
bothering
me.
I
sat
in
a
chair
with
my
legs
on
another,
surrounded
by
newspapers.
Eventually,
tired
of
reading,
I
lay
back
and
looked
at
the
envelope
on
the
table,
wondering
who
had
written
to
Holmes.
“This
seems
like
a
very
fancy
letter,”
I
said
when
he
came
in.
“Your
morning
letters
were
from
a
fishmonger
and
a
tide-waiter,
if
I
remember.”
“Yes,
my
mail
is
certainly
varied,”
he
replied
with
a
smile.
“The
simpler
ones
are
usually
more
interesting.
This
looks
like
one
of
those
social
invitations
that
either
bore
you
or
make
you
lie.”
He
opened
the
letter
and
read
it
quickly.
“Oh,
it
might
actually
be
interesting
after
all.”
“Not
a
social
invitation,
then?”
“No,
definitely
professional.”
