Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor
Capítulo 10, Página 23
“I’ve
wasted
enough
time,”
said
Lestrade,
getting
up.
“I
believe
in
hard
work,
not
sitting
by
the
fire
making
theories.
Goodbye,
Mr.
Holmes,
and
we’ll
see
who
solves
this
first.”
He
gathered
the
clothes,
put
them
in
his
bag,
and
headed
for
the
door.
“Just
a
hint,
Lestrade,”
Holmes
said
before
Lestrade
left.
“I’ll
tell
you
the
true
solution.
Lady
St.
Simon
is
a
myth.
There
is
no
such
person.”
Lestrade
looked
sadly
at
Holmes.
Then
he
turned
to
me,
tapped
his
forehead
three
times,
shook
his
head,
and
hurried
away.
He
had
barely
closed
the
door
when
Holmes
stood
up
to
put
on
his
coat.
“There’s
something
to
what
he
says
about
outdoor
work,”
he
remarked.
“So,
Watson,
I’ll
leave
you
to
your
papers
for
a
bit.”
It
was
after
five
when
Holmes
left,
but
I
wasn’t
lonely.
Within
an
hour,
a
man
from
a
confectioner’s
shop
arrived
with
a
large
box.
He
unpacked
it
with
a
young
helper,
and
soon
a
fancy
cold
supper
was
spread
out
on
our
table.
There
were
cold
woodcock,
a
pheasant,
a
pâté
de
foie
gras
pie,
and
some
old
bottles
of
wine.
After
setting
it
all
up,
they
disappeared
like
magic,
saying
only
that
it
was
paid
for
and
ordered
to
our
address.
Just
before
nine,
Sherlock
Holmes
came
back
into
the
room.
He
looked
serious,
but
there
was
a
light
in
his
eyes,
suggesting
he
wasn’t
disappointed
with
his
conclusions.
“So
they’ve
set
up
the
supper,”
he
said,
rubbing
his
hands.
“You
seem
to
expect
guests.
They’ve
set
places
for
five.”
