Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor
Capítulo 10, Página 25
“Ah,
you
see
these
things
differently.”
“I
don’t
think
anyone
is
to
blame.
I
can’t
see
how
the
lady
could
have
acted
differently,
though
her
sudden
way
of
doing
it
was
unfortunate.
Without
a
mother,
she
had
no
one
to
advise
her.”
“It
was
an
insult,
sir,
a
public
insult,”
said
Lord
St.
Simon,
tapping
his
fingers
on
the
table.
“You
must
consider
this
poor
girl,
in
such
a
unique
position.”
“I
will
make
no
allowances.
I’m
very
angry
and
have
been
treated
badly.”
“I
think
I
heard
the
doorbell,”
said
Holmes.
“Yes,
there
are
footsteps
on
the
landing.
If
I
can’t
convince
you
to
be
more
understanding,
Lord
St.
Simon,
I’ve
brought
someone
who
might.”
He
opened
the
door
and
brought
in
a
lady
and
a
gentleman.
“Lord
St.
Simon,”
he
said,
“allow
me
to
introduce
Mr.
and
Mrs.
Francis
Hay
Moulton.
I
believe
you’ve
already
met
the
lady.”
When
these
new
people
arrived,
our
client
jumped
up
from
his
seat.
He
stood
straight,
looking
down
with
his
hand
in
his
coat,
looking
upset.
The
lady
stepped
forward
quickly
and
offered
her
hand,
but
he
wouldn’t
look
at
her.
It
was
probably
better
for
him
because
her
face
was
hard
to
resist.
“You’re
upset,
Robert,”
she
said.
“And
you
have
every
reason
to
be.”
