Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
A Case of Identity
Capítulo 3, Página 8
"Yes,
sir,
but
very
quietly.
It
was
to
be
at
St.
Saviour's,
near
King's
Cross,
and
we
planned
to
have
breakfast
afterward
at
the
St.
Pancras
Hotel.
Hosmer
came
for
us
in
a
hansom
cab,
but
since
there
were
two
of
us,
he
put
us
in
it
and
took
a
four-wheeler
himself,
which
was
the
only
other
cab
on
the
street.
We
got
to
the
church
first,
and
when
the
four-wheeler
arrived,
we
waited
for
him
to
step
out,
but
he
never
did.
When
the
cabman
checked,
there
was
no
one
there!
The
cabman
said
he
couldn't
understand
what
happened
because
he
saw
him
get
in
with
his
own
eyes.
That
was
last
Friday,
Mr.
Holmes,
and
I
haven't
seen
or
heard
anything
since
to
explain
what
happened
to
him."
"It
looks
like
you've
been
treated
very
badly,"
said
Holmes.
"Oh
no,
sir!
He
was
too
kind
to
leave
me
like
this.
All
morning,
he
kept
telling
me
to
stay
true,
and
even
if
something
unexpected
happened
to
separate
us,
I
should
remember
my
promise
to
him.
He
said
he
would
come
for
me
sooner
or
later.
It
seemed
strange
for
a
wedding
morning,
but
now
it
makes
sense."
"It
certainly
does.
Do
you
think
something
unexpected
happened
to
him?"
"Yes,
sir.
I
believe
he
saw
some
danger
coming,
or
he
wouldn't
have
talked
like
that.
I
think
what
he
feared
actually
happened."
"But
you
have
no
idea
what
it
could
have
been?"
"None."
"One
more
question.
How
did
your
mother
react?"
