Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle
Capítulo 7, Página 1
I
visited
my
friend
Sherlock
Holmes
on
the
second
morning
after
Christmas
to
wish
him
well
for
the
season.
He
was
lying
on
the
sofa
in
a
purple
dressing
gown,
with
a
pipe-rack
nearby
and
a
pile
of
crumpled
newspapers
that
he
had
clearly
just
read.
Next
to
the
couch
was
a
wooden
chair,
and
on
its
back
hung
a
very
worn-out
hat,
cracked
and
shabby.
A
lens
and
a
pair
of
forceps
on
the
chair
suggested
the
hat
was
there
for
examination.
"You're
busy,"
I
said.
"Am
I
interrupting
you?"
"Not
at
all.
I'm
happy
to
have
someone
to
discuss
my
findings
with.
The
matter
is
quite
trivial,"
he
said,
pointing
at
the
old
hat,
"but
there
are
interesting
and
educational
points
about
it."
I
sat
in
his
armchair
and
warmed
my
hands
by
the
fire,
as
it
was
very
cold
outside
and
the
windows
were
covered
with
ice.
"I
suppose,"
I
said,
"that
this
ordinary-looking
thing
has
a
deadly
story
attached
to
it,
and
it
will
help
you
solve
some
mystery
and
punish
a
crime."
"No,
no
crime,"
Holmes
laughed.
"It's
just
one
of
those
odd
little
incidents
that
happen
when
four
million
people
live
close
together.
In
such
a
busy
place,
many
unusual
things
can
happen,
and
some
problems
are
interesting
even
if
they're
not
crimes.
We've
seen
such
cases
before."
"So
much
so,"
I
said,
"that
of
the
last
six
cases
I've
noted,
three
had
no
crime
involved."
"Exactly.
You
mean
my
attempt
to
recover
the
Irene
Adler
papers,
the
strange
case
of
Miss
Mary
Sutherland,
and
the
adventure
of
the
man
with
the
twisted
lip.
I
believe
this
small
matter
will
be
just
as
innocent.
Do
you
know
Peterson,
the
commissionaire?"
"Yes."
