Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle
Capítulo 7, Página 11
"Mr.
Henry
Baker,
I
presume,"
said
Holmes,
getting
up
from
his
armchair
and
greeting
the
visitor
warmly.
"Please
sit
by
the
fire,
Mr.
Baker.
It's
a
cold
night,
and
I
see
you're
more
suited
to
summer
than
winter.
Ah,
Watson,
you
arrived
just
in
time.
Is
that
your
hat,
Mr.
Baker?"
"Yes,
sir,
that
is
definitely
my
hat."
He
was
a
large
man
with
rounded
shoulders,
a
big
head,
and
a
broad,
intelligent
face,
ending
in
a
pointed
beard.
His
nose
and
cheeks
were
a
bit
red,
and
his
hand
trembled
slightly,
which
made
me
think
of
Holmes'
guess
about
his
habits.
His
old
black
coat
was
buttoned
up,
with
the
collar
turned
up,
and
his
thin
wrists
stuck
out
from
his
sleeves
without
cuffs.
He
spoke
slowly,
choosing
his
words
carefully,
and
seemed
like
a
learned
man
who
had
faced
hard
times.
"We
kept
these
items
for
several
days,"
said
Holmes,
"because
we
expected
you
to
advertise
your
address.
I
wonder
why
you
didn't."
Our
visitor
laughed
awkwardly.
"I
haven't
had
much
money
lately,"
he
said.
"I
thought
the
gang
that
attacked
me
took
both
my
hat
and
the
bird.
I
didn't
want
to
spend
more
money
trying
to
get
them
back."
"That
makes
sense.
By
the
way,
about
the
bird,
we
had
to
eat
it."
"Eat
it!"
Our
visitor
almost
stood
up
in
surprise.
"Yes,
it
would
have
been
useless
otherwise.
But
I
hope
this
other
goose
on
the
sideboard,
which
is
similar
and
fresh,
will
be
just
as
good
for
you?"
