Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle
Capítulo 7, Página 7
"The
goose,
Mr.
Holmes!
The
goose,
sir!"
he
gasped.
"Eh?
What
about
it,
then?
Has
it
come
back
to
life
and
flown
out
of
the
kitchen
window?"
Holmes
turned
on
the
sofa
to
get
a
better
look
at
the
man's
excited
face.
"Look
here,
sir!
See
what
my
wife
found
in
its
crop!"
He
held
out
his
hand,
showing
a
brilliantly
sparkling
blue
stone,
smaller
than
a
bean
but
so
pure
and
radiant
that
it
shone
like
an
electric
point
in
the
dark
of
his
hand.
Sherlock
Holmes
sat
up,
whistling.
"By
Jove,
Peterson!"
he
said,
"this
is
indeed
a
treasure.
Do
you
know
what
you
have?"
"A
diamond,
sir?
A
precious
stone.
It
cuts
glass
like
putty."
"It's
more
than
a
precious
stone.
It's
the
precious
stone."
"Not
the
Countess
of
Morcar's
blue
carbuncle!"
I
exclaimed.
"Exactly.
I
should
know
its
size
and
shape,
as
I've
read
the
advertisement
in
The
Times
every
day
lately.
It's
absolutely
unique,
and
its
value
is
unknown,
but
the
reward
of
£1000
is
certainly
much
less
than
its
market
price."
