Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
A Scandal in Bohemia
Capítulo 1, Página 6
"Come
in!"
said
Holmes.
A
man
entered
who
must
have
been
at
least
six
feet
six
inches
tall,
with
the
chest
and
limbs
of
a
Hercules.
His
outfit
was
rich,
with
a
richness
that
in
England
might
be
seen
as
bad
taste.
Heavy
bands
of
astrakhan
were
slashed
across
his
coat
sleeves
and
front,
and
the
deep
blue
cloak
over
his
shoulders
was
lined
with
flame-colored
silk,
secured
at
the
neck
with
a
brooch
of
a
single
flaming
beryl.
Boots
trimmed
with
rich
brown
fur
reached
halfway
up
his
calves,
adding
to
the
impression
of
barbaric
opulence
suggested
by
his
whole
appearance.
He
carried
a
broad-brimmed
hat
in
his
hand
and
wore
a
black
vizard
mask
across
the
upper
part
of
his
face,
down
past
the
cheekbones,
which
he
seemed
to
have
just
adjusted,
as
his
hand
was
still
raised
to
it
as
he
entered.
From
the
lower
part
of
his
face,
he
appeared
to
be
a
man
of
strong
character,
with
a
thick,
hanging
lip,
and
a
long,
straight
chin
suggesting
determination
pushed
to
the
point
of
stubbornness.
"You
received
my
note?"
he
asked
in
a
deep,
harsh
voice
with
a
strong
German
accent.
"I
told
you
I
would
call."
He
looked
from
one
of
us
to
the
other,
as
if
unsure
who
to
address.
"Please
take
a
seat,"
said
Holmes.
"This
is
my
friend
and
colleague,
Dr.
Watson,
who
sometimes
helps
me
with
my
cases.
Whom
do
I
have
the
honor
of
addressing?"
"You
may
call
me
Count
Von
Kramm,
a
Bohemian
nobleman.
I
understand
that
this
gentleman,
your
friend,
is
a
man
of
honor
and
discretion,
whom
I
can
trust
with
a
matter
of
the
utmost
importance.
If
not,
I
would
prefer
to
speak
with
you
alone."
I
stood
to
leave,
but
Holmes
grabbed
my
wrist
and
pushed
me
back
into
my
chair.
"It's
both,
or
none,"
he
said.
"You
may
say
to
this
gentleman
anything
you
can
say
to
me."
The
Count
shrugged
his
broad
shoulders.
"Then
I
must
begin,"
he
said,
"by
binding
you
both
to
absolute
secrecy
for
two
years;
after
that,
it
will
no
longer
matter.
Right
now,
it's
no
exaggeration
to
say
it
could
affect
European
history."
"I
promise,"
said
Holmes.
