Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
A Case of Identity
Capítulo 3, Página 8
"Yes,
sir,
but
very
quietly.
It
was
to
be
at
St.
Saviour's,
near
King's
Cross,
and
we
were
to
have
breakfast
at
the
St.
Pancras
Hotel.
Hosmer
came
for
us
in
a
hansom,
but
since
there
were
two
of
us,
he
put
us
in
it
and
took
a
four-wheeler
himself,
which
was
the
only
other
cab
in
the
street.
We
arrived
at
the
church
first,
and
when
the
four-wheeler
came,
we
waited
for
him
to
step
out,
but
he
never
did,
and
when
the
cabman
checked,
there
was
no
one
there!
The
cabman
said
he
couldn’t
imagine
what
happened,
as
he
saw
him
get
in.
That
was
last
Friday,
Mr.
Holmes,
and
I
haven’t
heard
or
seen
anything
since
to
explain
what
happened
to
him."
"It
seems
to
me
that
you've
been
treated
very
unfairly,"
said
Holmes.
"Oh,
no,
sir!
He
was
too
kind
to
leave
me
like
this.
All
morning,
he
was
telling
me
to
stay
true,
and
that
even
if
something
unexpected
happened
to
separate
us,
I
should
remember
my
promise
to
him,
and
he
would
come
for
me
sooner
or
later.
It
seemed
like
strange
talk
for
a
wedding
morning,
but
now
it
makes
sense."
"It
certainly
does.
So,
you
think
something
unforeseen
has
happened
to
him?"
"Yes,
sir.
I
believe
he
sensed
some
danger,
or
he
wouldn't
have
spoken
that
way.
I
think
what
he
feared
has
come
to
pass."
"But
you
have
no
idea
what
it
might
have
been?"
"None."
"One
more
question.
How
did
your
mother
react?"
