Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Boscombe Valley Mystery
Capítulo 4, Página 20
"But
who
is
he?"
"Surely
it
wouldn't
be
hard
to
find
out.
This
isn't
a
crowded
area."
Lestrade
shrugged.
"I'm
a
practical
man,"
he
said,
"and
I
can't
go
around
looking
for
a
left-handed
man
with
a
limp.
I'd
be
a
laughing-stock
at
Scotland
Yard."
"Alright,"
said
Holmes
quietly.
"I've
given
you
the
chance.
Here
are
your
lodgings.
Goodbye.
I'll
drop
you
a
note
before
I
leave."
After
leaving
Lestrade
at
his
place,
we
drove
to
our
hotel,
where
lunch
awaited
us.
Holmes
was
silent,
deep
in
thought,
with
a
troubled
look,
like
someone
in
a
difficult
situation.
"Listen,
Watson,"
he
said
once
the
table
was
cleared,
"sit
down
and
let
me
talk
to
you
for
a
bit.
I'm
not
sure
what
to
do,
and
I’d
appreciate
your
advice.
Light
a
cigar
and
let
me
explain."
"Please
do."
"In
looking
at
this
case,
there
are
two
points
in
young
McCarthy's
story
that
struck
us
both
immediately.
They
made
me
think
in
his
favor,
but
you
felt
the
opposite.
One
was
his
claim
that
his
father
shouted
'Cooee!'
before
seeing
him.
The
other
was
his
father's
strange
dying
reference
to
a
rat.
He
mumbled
several
words,
but
that's
all
the
son
heard.
Our
investigation
must
start
from
these
two
points,
assuming
the
boy's
account
is
entirely
true."
