Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Man with the Twisted Lip
Capítulo 6, Página 21
“Certainly.”
“Then
get
dressed.
No
one
is
up
yet,
but
I
know
where
the
stable-boy
sleeps,
and
we’ll
have
the
trap
out
soon.”
He
chuckled
to
himself
as
he
spoke,
his
eyes
twinkling,
and
he
seemed
like
a
different
man
from
the
serious
thinker
of
the
previous
night.
As
I
dressed,
I
glanced
at
my
watch.
It
was
no
wonder
no
one
was
awake.
It
was
twenty-five
minutes
past
four.
I
had
barely
finished
when
Holmes
returned
with
news
that
the
boy
was
getting
the
horse
ready.
“I
want
to
test
a
little
theory
of
mine,”
he
said,
pulling
on
his
boots.
“I
think,
Watson,
you
are
now
with
one
of
the
biggest
fools
in
Europe.
I
deserve
to
be
kicked
all
the
way
to
Charing
Cross.
But
I
think
I
have
the
key
to
the
case
now.”
“And
where
is
it?”
I
asked,
smiling.
“In
the
bathroom,”
he
replied.
“Oh,
yes,
I’m
not
joking,”
he
continued,
seeing
my
disbelief.
“I’ve
just
been
there,
taken
it
out,
and
I
have
it
in
this
Gladstone
bag.
Come
on,
my
boy,
and
we’ll
see
if
it
fits
the
lock.”
We
quietly
made
our
way
downstairs
and
out
into
the
bright
morning
sunshine.
Our
horse
and
trap
stood
in
the
road,
with
the
half-dressed
stable-boy
waiting
at
the
head.
We
both
jumped
in,
and
off
we
went
down
the
London
Road.
A
few
country
carts
were
moving,
bringing
vegetables
to
the
city,
but
the
rows
of
villas
on
either
side
were
as
silent
and
lifeless
as
a
city
in
a
dream.
“It’s
been
a
peculiar
case
in
some
ways,”
said
Holmes,
urging
the
horse
into
a
gallop.
“I
admit
I’ve
been
as
blind
as
a
mole,
but
it’s
better
to
learn
wisdom
late
than
never
at
all.”
