Las aventuras de Sherlock Holmes
The Adventure of the Speckled Band
Capítulo 8, Página 29
"It's
a
nice
household,"
he
murmured.
"That
is
the
baboon."
I
had
forgotten
the
strange
pets
the
Doctor
kept.
There
was
a
cheetah,
too;
perhaps
it
might
jump
on
us
at
any
moment.
I
felt
more
at
ease
after
following
Holmes'
lead
and
removing
my
shoes.
Once
inside
the
bedroom,
my
companion
quietly
closed
the
shutters,
moved
the
lamp
onto
the
table,
and
looked
around
the
room.
Everything
was
as
we
had
seen
it
during
the
day.
Then,
creeping
up
to
me
and
making
a
trumpet
of
his
hand,
he
whispered
into
my
ear
so
softly
that
it
was
all
I
could
do
to
make
out
the
words:
"The
slightest
sound
would
ruin
our
plans."
I
nodded
to
show
I
understood.
"We
must
sit
without
light.
He
would
see
it
through
the
ventilator."
I
nodded
again.
"Don't
fall
asleep;
your
life
could
depend
on
it.
Keep
your
pistol
ready
in
case
we
need
it.
I
will
sit
on
the
side
of
the
bed,
and
you
in
that
chair."
I
took
out
my
revolver
and
placed
it
on
the
corner
of
the
table.
