officer,

were
together.
Bradstreet
had
spread
out
a
map
of
the
county
on
the
seat
and
was
using
his
compass
to
draw
a
circle
with
Eyford
at
its
center.
"There
you
go,"
he
said.

circle
has
a
ten-mile
radius
from
the
village.
The
place
we're
looking
for
should
be
near
this
line.
You
mentioned
ten
miles,
right,
sir?"
"Yes,

a
solid

drive."
