Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 17, Página 2
But
this
was
not
special.
Many
boys
said
the
same.
The
group
walked
away,
still
talking
about
Tom
and
Joe.
On
Sunday,
the
church
bell
rang
sadly.
It
was
a
quiet
day.
People
came
to
the
church.
They
talked
in
whispers
about
the
sad
event.
Inside,
it
was
quiet.
Women
sat
down.
The
church
was
full.
Aunt
Polly,
Sid,
and
Mary
came
in.
The
Harper
family
came
too.
Everyone
stood
up
until
they
sat
in
the
front.
Then
the
minister
prayed.
They
sang
a
hymn.
The
text
was:
“I
am
the
Resurrection
and
the
Life.”
The
minister
talked
about
Tom
and
Joe.
He
said
they
were
good
boys.
People
felt
sad
because
they
did
not
see
this
before.
The
minister
told
stories
about
the
boys.
People
cried.
The
stories
were
sad.
Everyone
cried
together.
Even
the
minister
cried.
There
was
a
noise
in
the
gallery.
The
church
door
opened.
The
minister
looked
up
and
was
shocked!
Everyone
looked.
The
three
boys
came
in.
Tom
was
first,
then
Joe,
and
Huck
last.
They
were
not
dead!
They
hid
in
the
gallery
and
heard
their
own
funeral!
Aunt
Polly,
Mary,
and
the
Harpers
hugged
the
boys.
They
kissed
them
and
were
happy.
Huck
felt
shy.
He
wanted
to
leave.
Tom
held
him
and
said:
"Aunt
Polly,
it’s
not
fair.
Someone
must
be
happy
to
see
Huck."
"And
I
am
happy
to
see
him,
poor
boy!"
Aunt
Polly
hugged
Huck.
He
felt
more
shy.
The
minister
shouted:
“Praise
God!
Sing
with
your
hearts!”
