Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 28, Página 1
That
night,
Tom
and
Huck
were
ready.
They
stayed
near
the
tavern
until
after
nine.
Tom
watched
the
alley,
and
Huck
watched
the
tavern
door.
No
one
went
in
or
out.
The
night
was
clear.
Tom
went
home.
He
said,
“If
it
gets
dark,
come
and
call
me.”
But
the
night
stayed
clear.
Huck
went
to
bed
in
a
big
barrel
at
twelve.
Tuesday
and
Wednesday,
nothing
happened.
But
Thursday
night
was
different.
Tom
left
home
with
a
lantern
and
a
towel.
He
hid
the
lantern
in
Huck’s
barrel.
They
started
to
watch.
Before
midnight,
the
tavern
closed.
No
one
saw
the
Spaniard.
All
was
quiet.
Only
thunder
far
away
made
noise.
Tom
lit
the
lantern
and
covered
it
with
the
towel.
They
went
to
the
tavern.
Huck
stayed
outside.
Tom
went
into
the
alley.
Huck
waited.
He
felt
scared.
He
wanted
to
see
the
light.
It
was
quiet,
and
Huck
got
closer
to
the
alley.
He
was
scared
something
bad
would
happen.
His
heart
beat
fast.
Suddenly,
there
was
light.
Tom
ran
out
and
said,
“Run!”
Huck
ran
fast.
They
didn’t
stop
until
they
reached
an
old
shed.
Then
the
storm
came,
and
rain
poured.
Tom
caught
his
breath
and
said:
“Huck,
it
was
scary!
I
tried
two
keys,
but
they
made
noise.
I
was
so
scared.
They
didn’t
work.
Then
I
opened
the
door.
It
wasn’t
locked!
I
went
in
and
took
off
the
towel,
and,
oh
my!”
“What
did
you
see,
Tom?”
“I
almost
stepped
on
Injun
Joe’s
hand!”
“No
way!”
