Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 29, Página 1
On
Friday
morning,
Tom
heard
good
news.
Judge
Thatcher’s
family
came
back
to
town.
Tom
forgot
about
Injun
Joe
and
the
treasure.
He
thought
about
Becky.
He
saw
her,
and
they
played
games
with
their
friends.
Becky
asked
her
mom
for
a
picnic
the
next
day.
Her
mom
said
yes.
Becky
was
very
happy.
Tom
was
happy
too.
They
sent
out
invitations.
All
the
kids
got
ready
and
were
excited.
Tom
stayed
awake
late,
hoping
to
hear
Huck’s
signal.
But
no
signal
came
that
night.
Morning
came,
and
at
ten
o’clock,
the
kids
were
at
Judge
Thatcher’s
house.
They
were
ready
for
the
picnic.
No
old
people
came.
Some
young
ladies
and
gentlemen
watched
over
the
kids.
They
used
an
old
ferry-boat
for
the
picnic.
The
kids
walked
with
baskets
of
food.
Sid
was
sick
and
stayed
home.
Mary
stayed
with
him.
Mrs.
Thatcher
told
Becky:
“You’ll
come
back
late.
Maybe
stay
with
a
friend
near
the
ferry.”
“I’ll
stay
with
Susy
Harper,
mom.”
“Okay.
Be
good
and
don’t
cause
trouble.”
As
they
walked,
Tom
said
to
Becky:
“Let’s
go
to
Widow
Douglas’
instead
of
Joe
Harper’s.
She
has
ice-cream
every
day.
She
will
be
happy
to
see
us.”
“Oh,
that
sounds
fun!”
