Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 33, Página 1
In
a
few
minutes,
the
news
spread.
Many
men
went
to
McDougal’s
cave.
A
ferryboat
came
too.
Tom
Sawyer
was
with
Judge
Thatcher.
They
opened
the
cave
door.
It
was
sad
inside.
Injun
Joe
was
on
the
ground.
He
was
dead.
His
face
was
near
the
door
crack.
He
looked
at
the
light
outside.
Tom
felt
sad
for
him.
He
knew
Injun
Joe
had
suffered.
But
Tom
also
felt
safe
now.
He
was
not
scared
anymore.
Injun
Joe’s
knife
was
broken.
He
tried
to
cut
the
door,
but
it
did
not
work.
The
rock
was
too
strong.
He
could
not
get
out.
He
ate
candles
and
bats.
He
was
very
hungry.
He
broke
a
stalagmite
and
put
a
stone
on
it.
Water
dripped
into
it.
He
drank
the
water.
The
drop
was
very
old.
It
was
there
when
many
things
happened
in
history.”
The
drop
still
falls
today.
Tourists
look
at
the
stone
and
water.
Injun
Joe’s
cup
is
famous.
People
come
to
see
it
in
the
cave.
Injun
Joe
was
buried
near
the
cave.
Many
people
came
to
the
funeral.
They
came
in
boats
and
wagons.
They
brought
their
children
and
food.
They
enjoyed
the
funeral
like
a
big
event.
The
funeral
stopped
a
petition.
People
wanted
to
pardon
Injun
Joe.
Many
people
signed
it.
They
cried
and
asked
the
governor
to
forgive
him.
Injun
Joe
killed
five
people,
but
some
people
still
wanted
to
pardon
him.
The
morning
after
the
funeral,
Tom
talked
to
Huck.
Huck
knew
about
Tom’s
adventure.
But
Tom
had
more
to
say.
Huck
looked
sad.
“I
know.
You
went
into
No.
2.
You
found
whiskey,
not
money.
I
knew
it
was
you.
You
didn’t
tell
me
because
you
had
no
money.
I
knew
we
wouldn’t
find
the
treasure.”
