Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 13, Página 8
“Who?”
said
Huck.
“Why,
the
pirates.”
Huck
looked
at
his
own
clothes
sadly.
“I
guess
I’m
not
dressed
like
a
pirate,”
he
said,
with
a
sad
voice.
“But
I
only
have
these.”
But
the
other
boys
told
him
the
fine
clothes
would
come
soon,
after
they
started
their
adventures.
They
made
him
understand
his
poor
clothes
were
okay
to
start
with,
though
rich
pirates
usually
started
with
better
clothes.
Their
talk
slowly
ended,
and
they
began
to
feel
sleepy.
The
pipe
fell
from
the
Red-Handed’s
fingers,
and
he
slept
peacefully.
The
Terror
of
the
Seas
and
the
Black
Avenger
of
the
Spanish
Main
had
more
trouble
falling
asleep.
They
said
their
prayers
quietly,
lying
down,
since
no
one
was
there
to
make
them
kneel
and
say
them
out
loud.
They
almost
didn’t
pray,
but
they
were
afraid
they
might
get
punished
from
heaven.
Then
they
almost
fell
asleep,
but
something
bothered
them.
It
was
their
conscience.
They
started
to
feel
bad
for
running
away
and
thought
about
the
stolen
meat.
They
tried
to
argue
it
was
okay
because
they
had
taken
sweets
and
apples
before,
but
their
conscience
didn’t
agree.
It
seemed
that
taking
sweets
was
just
“hooking,”
but
taking
bacon
and
hams
was
stealing,
and
the
Bible
said
not
to
steal.
So
they
decided
not
to
steal
again
while
they
were
pirates.
Then
their
conscience
let
them
sleep,
and
these
funny
pirates
fell
peacefully
asleep.
