Las aventuras de Tom Sawyer
Capítulo 14, Página 4
"Boys,
I
know
who's
drowned—it's
us!"
They
felt
like
heroes
right
away.
They
were
missed;
people
cried
for
them.
Everyone
in
town
talked
about
them.
They
were
famous,
and
it
felt
great
to
be
pirates
after
all.
As
it
got
dark,
the
ferryboat
went
back
to
work,
and
the
small
boats
left.
The
pirates
went
back
to
camp.
They
were
happy
about
their
new
fame
and
the
trouble
they
caused.
They
caught
fish,
cooked
dinner,
and
ate
it.
Then
they
guessed
what
the
village
was
saying
about
them.
They
liked
thinking
about
it.
But
when
night
came,
they
stopped
talking
and
stared
at
the
fire.
The
fun
was
over,
and
Tom
and
Joe
thought
about
people
at
home.
They
felt
a
little
sad.
Joe
quietly
asked
if
they
should
go
back
home—not
right
now,
but—
Tom
laughed
at
him!
Huck,
who
hadn't
decided
yet,
agreed
with
Tom.
Joe
quickly
changed
his
mind
and
felt
relieved.
The
idea
of
going
home
was
forgotten
for
now.
As
night
went
on,
Huck
started
to
nod
off,
then
snored.
Joe
soon
followed.
Tom
watched
them
for
a
while.
Then
he
got
up
quietly
and
looked
around
the
campfire.
He
found
two
pieces
of
white
bark.
He
wrote
something
on
each
with
his
red
pencil.
He
put
one
in
his
pocket
and
the
other
in
Joe's
hat
with
some
small
treasures—chalk,
a
rubber
ball,
fishhooks,
and
a
special
marble.
Then
he
carefully
walked
away
until
he
was
far
enough,
and
then
he
ran
towards
the
sandbar.
